A theatre production poster. Two actors, dressed nicely, are seated at the table and looking outwards with artificial smiles. There are two candles between them, one lit and one smoldering and a dried flower bouquet between the candles.

Taboo

By John Morton. A White Label Production. The New Theatre, 2016

What truly stands out are Fox and Morton, who are equally matched in skill and acting ability, and work incredibly well together to give superb performances under the direction of Sarah Baxter **** David Keane

With the evening playing out in real time in a single, wonderfully intimate setting, Taboo has some of the intensity of a Greek tragedy, but with significantly more humour…the entire production, directed by Sarah Baxter, is a wonderfully cohesive, and thought provoking piece. No More Workhorse

Two actors on stage. A woman, in a patterned floral dress, on the left holding a tea towel aloft. The man turned sideways, leaning backwards and spraying and air freshener. The set walls are peach and there are props of a home visible.

There was a boy and a girl and somehow they met. Lily doesn’t get out much. Tom finds it hard to meet new people. And now they’re having their first date. Lily cooks a three course meal. Tom brings flowers and wine. On the surface, everything seems fine. But in the modern world, dating is a surprisingly complex thing with a lot of unwritten rules. There are certain things you shouldn’t do on a first date. And then there are certain things you shouldn’t do at all.

Two actors on stage. A man and a woman seated either end of a table, looking at one another.
Two actors on stage. In the background a home set up. In focus, a man seated with a woman standing behind him. Both are in an embrace, looking out front with concerned expressions.
Two actors on stage. A man sitting down, mid takin off his runners. The woman stands, with her foot on a chair, showing off her shoes. The peach walls with a 'home sweet home' needlework is visible. Other home furnishings are also visible.
